We started the festive season with Christmas carols in collaboration with the Hermanus Rotary Club, which was such a special way to bring the community together.

Over the holidays, I spent time with my family and grandchildren between Onrusrivier and Voëlklip, enjoying perfect sunny days. Beach walks, and time together made this holiday so memorable.

One of the highlights for the children was a visit to Whale of a Time Play Park. This family-run business in the heart of Hermanus has created a fantastic space for both kids and adults. With indoor and outdoor facilities, children can enjoy endless fun, while adults can relax, enjoy a meal, and soak up the atmosphere. Truly a whale of a time for all ages!

Our days were spent enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Onrusrivier offered peaceful, quiet moments, while Voëlklip delivered that classic beach energy that defines summer in Hermanus.

December also reminds you why so many people fall in love with this town. Local markets, cafés, outdoor living, and a lifestyle that feels both relaxed and connected. For anyone considering a permanent move or a holiday home in Hermanus, this time of year shows the town at its very best.

Whether you are visiting for the season or dreaming of making Hermanus home, December captures the heart of the Whale Coast beautifully.

I’d love to hear about your own Hermanus holiday moments! Or if you’re curious about living here, get in touch to explore what’s available.
